From The Editor
All good things must come to an end; so is the case with my tenure as Creative Machine Embroidery editor. It’s been an enjoyable experience growing the magazine and Web site and watching all of the happenings in the embroidery world. After 8 years though, it’s time for me to move on to something new. I’m eager to tackle new projects and challenges and look forward to doing just that. I leave CME in the capable hands of Ellen March, who some of you may recognize as the former managing editor of Sew News. I know she’s excited to share even more embroidery discoveries with all of you.
In the July/August issue of CME, we have great inspirations to embroider for summer. If fashion is your passion, then make a wrap dress in classic black and white; embellish a knit jacket with metal accents; create a breezy little tank with yo-yos around the neckline; or embroider raw-edge appliqués to embellish a ready-made fabric bag. If home décor is your focus, make a tab top headboard; coordinate a pretty outdoor rug; or design a clever wind chime. We also have great gift ideas for friends or family. Sew up a quick jewelry bag, a gift for the gourmet or a decorative tissue holder.
And don’t forget to drop Ellen a line at [email protected] and share what you’ve been embroidering. Send jpg images for our Reader Gallery section of the e-Update newsletter so fellow embroiders can be inspired, too!
