TV Guests – Mark Montano
After earning his MFA at FIT in New York City, Mark Montano started his career as a designer working for Oscar de la Renta, and then opened his first boutique in the East Village of New York. Soon after he began showing his own collection at New York Fashion Week, he won the coveted Cotton Incorporated Award for design and was the youngest member to be inducted into the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America). Feeling fashion was not enough, he eventually moved to television to become part of the design team for TLC’s While You Were Out and the host of TLC’s 10 Years Younger, as well as co-host of the Style Network’s My Celebrity Home. Mark has been a host and designer on We TV’s She’s Moving In, The Tony Danza Show on ABC and FOX’s My Home 2.0. He was a contributing editor to CosmoGIRL! magazine for ten years. He has also dished out décor advice as a contributing editor for The New York Post and Knight Ridder with a weekly Q&A article in over 70 U.S. newspapers. Currently he’s also writing a weekly column for The Denver Post.
Mark is the author of 11 books, the original The Big-Ass Book of Crafts (the number one selling craft book in the US) Super Suite: The Ultimate Bedroom Makeover Guide for Girls, Dollar Store Décor, Pulp Fiction: Perfect Paper Projects, and The Big Ass Book of Home Décor. The Big Ass Book of Craft 2, also Simon and Schuster. The Vision Box Idea Book and Pulp Fiction 2nd Edition have just been released by Fox Chapel publishers. THE BIG ASS BOOK OF BLING, Simon and Schuster, was released on November 1st 2012. Currently he lives in Los Angeles and spends his days gluing odd things together.
