TV Guests – Josephine Kimberling
Josephine Kimberling brings her print, color and trend forecasting expertise to her art licensing company and namesake brand of artwork – providing companies across a variety of product categories with on-trend artwork, delicious color stories, and unique design solutions for their products.
With over 12 years of experience in the fashion industry as a textile designer, Josephine has created hundreds of prints for Nordstrom’s clothing lines, as well as designed her own prints for sale worldwide through a well-known art representative in London. Along with her work in the fashion industry, she designed stationery and gift-wrap products for one of the most well-known card manufacturers in the world – Hallmark.
In addition to Josephine’s tenured experience of creating artwork in the fashion industry, she also specialized in print & color trend forecasting – creating seasonal color palettes and forecasts for the juniors and women’s markets. With her passion to mentor and contribute to high-quality textile design, she has trained textile designers and worked with companies to develop and implement internal processes, from development to production, to strengthen their textile design structures.
With her love of pattern on all surfaces, a desire to service a variety of companies, and a passion to create artwork from her own point of view, she began her art licensing company for her namesake brand of artwork in 2008, which started with the launch of her first fabric collection, Hot Blossom, with Robert Kaufman fabrics. She has created 3 fabric collections for Robert Kaufman fabrics in total: Hot Blossom, Glam Garden and Just Dandy, which are packed full of her signature, colorful blooms. Josephine’s artwork can also be seen on a growing range of products such as stationery, scrapbook materials, gift items, magnets, rubber stamps and more.
Before she began her career, she grew up in the sunshine of laid-back California, and moved to the urban northwest to study Graphic Design & Illustration at the Art Institute of Seattle.
Josephine currently lives just outside Seattle, Washington with her husband Jake. For more on Josephine, visit josephinekimberling.com.
