TV Guests – Ellen Osten
Ellen has decades of experience sewing and teaching professionally. She is contributor to several Sulky of America books and is the creator of the pattern line, Sew… What’s New.
Ellen has been with Sulky of America, Inc. since 1988 as a National Sulky Educator. A few years ago, Ellen became the Sulky full time National Education Director. She travels the country giving lectures, demos and hands-on classes. Ellen helps develop projects and techniques for Sulky’s Certified Teacher Training programs, consumer shows and trade shows. She enjoys teaching all skill levels and instructs in many subject areas, including free-motion thread painting, computerized embroidery, pattern fitting, bridal, tailoring, cutwork and beading.
Consumer satisfaction is Ellen’s #1 concern. Seeing a student’s face light up when they understand and complete a project is the best gift. Ellen’s knack for combining teaching and low-key sales has made her the consummate teacher and the perfect National Education Director.
Among other settings, Ellen has taught at the American Quilter’s Society, the American Sewing Guild, the Original Sewing & Quilt Expo, Martha Pullen Licensings, South West Tech and the Sew for Fun Cruise in 2005.
Ellen is certified with Verna Holt, Lucille Graham, Trained Sewing Educator Alliance, and Serger Camp.
Ellen says, “My goal is for my student to have fun while learning, and to feel marvelous through the entire experience.”
