Sew News April/May 2020: Welcome Warm Weather!
It took some time, but Colorado winters have really grown on me. I savor the chance to slow down (even if it’s because I’m snow-bound!) and layer up with cozy me-mades. But by the time spring hits each year, I’m ready for it. And my wardrobe is too! We hope Sew News April/May 2020 provides you with inspiration to welcome spring.
From bright colors to light textures to fun garments that embody the season, this issue will help you shake off that winter chill and get you ready for the coming warm weather. Read our Sew & Tell column for insights into our summer sewing plans. Hint: we’re going to be busy!
When we said bright colors, we meant it! Take your garment creations to the next me-made level with fabric painting. Read the tutorial by Katie Kortman for inspiration to create your own custom painted fabrics this season.
Nothing says warm weather like a great (and comfortable!) knit dress. Check out the Easy as Tie Dress — an easy knit tank dress with tie shoulder — and the Manassa Maxi Dress, our April/May sew along.
An artful poncho, a colorblocked men’s tee, the perfect button-up skirt, a handy canvas bucket bag great for project toting — Sew News April/May 2020 is designed to inspire, and we hope it does just that!
Happy spring stitching,
