Project Runway Final 4: Who’s Your Favorite?
This has been one of the most compelling and emotionally tumultuous seasons of Project Runway. In last night’s episode, we found out who would be awarded the chance to create collections for Fashion Week. Mayor Bloomberg announced that the challenge was to design a garment inspired by an iconic NYC landmark. As they set out across the city to gather ideas, most of the designers seemed somewhat exhausted–and who can blame them? However, it was still thrilling to watch how each contestant translated his or her specific inspiration into fashion.
After struggling to decide on an overall concept, Michael C. pulled off a win (and secured his Final 4 spot) with an effortlessly chic draped gown inspired by the Statue of Liberty:

Mondo, Andy and Gretchen filled the remaining three spots, while a brave but heartbroken April was sent home after creating an asymmetrical black dress that too closely resembled her past work. Check out all the designs here.
Who are you hoping makes it to the Final Three? I had the honor of meeting both Mondo and Michael C. at the benefit they hosted to support Rainbow Alley and the Colorado AIDS Project. They are both incredibly gracious and contagiously creative, so I can’t help but root for both of them! Here I am, totally starstruck to be posing with them, followed by some other fun sneak peek pictures from the benefit:
I can’t wait to see next weeks’ episode, when Tim visits each of the Final 4 in their hometowns!
