Project Runway All Stars Recap, Season 6 Episode 10: Rock Your Face Off

This episode starts at the Hard Rock Cafe, where we get a good look at the merchandise available at the restaurant. Alyssa stands next to a juke box and tells the designers they have to create a dazzling performance outfit from the stage. The designers choose a track from the juke box to inspire their look.

It’s a face off!

The winning designer will create a new Hard Rock T-shirt to be sold at Hard Rock locations nationwide, plus they will get a Cancun Hard Rock Hotel vacation. Bonus!

The designers start shopping for a lot of leather, gold, sequins and the like. I can tell I’m going to like this challenge.

Stanley is planning to make four pieces and is already worried about time. Helen chooses LOTS of sequined yardage and I’m worried it’s going to be too much of a good thing. Ken has a backup plan in case he cannot execute his bodysuit using a burnout white stretchy fabric. There is a lot of consideration happening among these final six designers.

Alyssa came out on the runway wearing some fringe, and the designers all gasped. I think they’re just surprised when she’s wearing something actually cool–and actually fitting to her body. It hasn’t happened too many times this season!

First up is Edmond vs Stanley (rock). I clearly think Edmond has this one, folks.

Next is Fabio vs Helen (country). My favorite pair of the night. I thought Fabio’s look was too simple, though it did remind me of Kelly Pickler. Helen’s look was totally Miranda Lambert.

Lastly is Anthony vs Ken (pop). Anthony is the clear win. The fringe was ON POINT.

The judges agreed with Edmond’s win over Stanley. Stanley was a bit too contrived and the judges didn’t like the “matchy matchy” look. Stanley was in the bottom for the first time all season.

Georgina thought Fabio’s look was a little too “on the nose.” But she was worried that Helen’s look would come off “cheap.” Alyssa thought that Helen’s look looked “too costume” (um, wasn’t that the challenge?). Helen was in the bottom.

Georgina loved both Anthony and Ken’s look. Isaac liked Ken’s better, but hated the coat. It seemed like a tie, but they gave the win to Ken.

In the end, Edmond goes home with the win and gets to go to Cancun, courtesy of Hard Rock Hotels.

Helen is eliminated and seems genuinely shocked.

Too bad that the only woman standing had to go home. We will see what the boys come up with next week!
