Tricky fabrics? Sometimes they can challenge your skills, sometimes they’re the secret ingredient to a one-of-a-kind statement piece…and costume! I have a personal code: I only sew with sequins (or velvet or faux fur) for people I truly love (most often, this overlaps with people who are related to me). The only other exception is for group costumes that I’m particularly dedicated too. It’s true, though: faux fur and sequins intimidate even seasoned sewists. However, as I discovered in this episode, there’s usually a special tool or trick (or both!) that can help you along the way.
