  1. I am quite excited about the classics with a twist, high shine, and romantic gone grunge trends! I’m thinking for my first foray into working with lamé I’m going to keep it very simple and sew up a Seamwork Kenedy dress. I also want to try out something romantic gone grunge. For this trend I think McCall’s M7974 version A would be lovely sewn in a sheer swiss dot chiffon and worn with a black slip underneath. I’ve been humming and hawing over Butterick B6706, sort of a suit coat dress. This is the only way I can imagine myself wearing a suit coat… so brilliant to turn it into a dress! The only thing that has prevented me from making this already is that I don’t have the right fabric for this project. I tend to sew up a lot of dresses, so I think Victory Pattern’s newest Sloane jumpsuit is going to have to make it on my sewing queue for this fall for days when I don’t feel like wearing a dress (rare as those days are!).
