I often use notions from thrift stores such as buying clothing off the $1.00 rack to harvest buttons or zippers. Usually these are items that have not sold so I don’t feel too guilty that they may be something someone is searching for to wear. I have bought out of style dresses for the fabric and bought curtains, tablecloths, and sheets to use for fabric at yard sales and thrift stores.
