About this Sew-Along
With a front button placket, paneling, and French seams, the Frisco Skirt combines the breezy style of a wrap skirt with the comfort of an elastic waist skirt at the back. Designed by Kimberly Payne of Straight Stitch Designs and available in sizes 0–34, the Frisco sews up well in a wide variety of fabrics, from drapey rayons to structured cottons and linens.
Follow along with Amanda as she walks you through the construction process, step by step. Start with fabric selection and easy pattern alterations, plus get tips for working with drapey fabrics that work especially well for this skirt. Panel the skirt sections together using French seams, construct and attach the waistband, and then create buttonholes and attach buttons. Finish up with hemming tips and design options for next time. You’ll want to make this skirt again and again!
