Welcome to first ever Sew Daily Pick-a-Pattern contest! We wanted to know: what are your all-time favorite sewing patterns from indie designers? This December, you voted on your favorite designs in four fun categories and had the opportunity to win awesome prizes from us and our sponsors. We held this contest with the goal of discovering new patterns, celebrating great designers, and learning what you love to sew—there are no losers here! But we wanted to find out what your favorites are, and we hope you had lots of fun voting and cheering on your picks! Be sure to keep an eye out for another round of Pick-a-Pattern!
For this first Pick-a-Pattern contest, our categories were: All-Time Favorite Pants Pattern, All-Time Favorite Pattern for “Sew Frosting,” All-Time Favorite T-Shirt Pattern and finally, Favorite New Pattern of 2021. (Not sure what “Sew Frosting” means? We explain in this blog post.) Each week, you had the opportunity to vote for patterns in these categories. For each week you voted, you were entered to win a weekly prize, plus got an additional entry in our grand prize giveaway!
We’ve gathered your votes in all four categories and notified our giveaway winners! Check out the pattern winners below to see if your favorite patterns were selected, and to discover all kinds of fun new patterns to sew in the new year. You’ll also find our giveaway winners listed at the bottom along with the prizes they won, as those winners are confirmed.
How the Pick-a-Pattern Contest Works:
- Nominations ran from 11/19-11/29, and we chose the four patterns with the most nominations in each category to move on to the voting rounds. There was also a write-in option for each category, so you could always vote for your favorite.
- We’ve wrapped up voting for our four categories—see the winning patterns below! We’ve also picked and notified our four weekly giveaway winners. All votes were also counted toward the grand prize giveaway, and the winner selected.
- On Thursday 12/30, we announced the final category contest winner, both on this page and on the Sew Daily Network YouTube channel. You can find all four winners below and the announcement videos on YouTube.
- We’ll absolutely do this again! Keep your eye open for another round of Pick-a-Pattern.
