Description
Warm wool and flannel evoke the cozy glow of sitting on the hearth tiles next to a crackling fire. reshaped into the softer form of a toss pillow. Touches of embroidery lend further warmth to the handmade details.
FABRIC
— ½ yd cotton flannel (shown: brown crosshatch print)
— 16″ × 16″ piece of scrap flannel
— Enough scraps of assorted felted wools to make twenty-five tiles, each at least 1 ½” × 1 ½” (shown: brown, red, orange, and gold)
OTHER SUPPLIES
— 16″ × 16″ pillow form
— Rotary cutter, rigid acrylic ruler, and self-healing mat
— Coordinating sewing thread
— Contrasting machine-quilting thread (shown: ecru)
— Embroidery floss in colors to coordinate with felted wools
— Hand-embroidery needle
— Optional: walking foot for sewing machine
