Improvisational cutting and piecing give this patchwork table
runner and placemat fresh design. With key elements of the blocks aligned, the
pattern still comes through so you can enjoy quilting your own inspired mix of
colorful fabrics.

Fabric Requirements:

. ½ yd (46 cm) of 45″ (115 cm) wide cotton in cream or white for binding and piecing

. 1 1/8 yd (1 m) of 45″ (115 cm) wide coordinating fabric for backing

. 25 to 30 assorted, primarily solid color, cotton and linen scraps, each large enough for cutting 1 or 2 squares 3″ (7.5 cm) or larger

. 25 to 30 assorted, primarily solid color, cotton or linen strips, each measuring at least 1 ½” (3.8 cm) wide and long enough to cut 2 or 4 strips up to 4 ½” (11.4 cm) long

Finished Size:

16″ – 50″ (40.5 – 127 cm)
