Description
Many sewing enthusiasts love antique sewing machines. Now you can make your own in appliqué form to adorn a felt sewing-machine cover with handy side pockets. Feature your favorite fabric scraps in front of each mini-machine and bring a touch of retro style to your sewing room. And make a pincushion to match!
Finished Size: About 15 ½” high – 18 ½” wide – 11″ deep (39.5 – 47 – 28 cm)
Fabric Requirements:
- . ¾ yd (69 cm) of 72″ (183 cm) wide felt for main cover and pockets (Main; shown: blue)
- . 3/8 yd (34.5 cm) of 45″ (114.5 cm) wide print cotton fabric for binding (A; shown: black/ white lettering print)
- . 1/8 yd (11.5 cm) of 45″ (114.5 cm) wide print cotton fabric for trim below binding at top edge (B; shown: black/white polka dot)
- . ¼ yd (23 cm) of 45″ (114.5 cm) wide print cotton fabric for pocket backings (C; shown: gray and gold squares with black lettering on white)
- . 6 assorted print cotton fabric scraps, each at least 2″ – 2″ (5 – 5 cm), for patchwork appliqué
- . Felt scrap to contrast the Main felt, at least 3 ½” – 12″ (9 – 30.5 cm), for sewing machine appliqué (shown: gray)
- . 3 different felt scraps to contrast the Main felt, each at least ½” – ½” (1.3 – 1.3 cm), for spool appliqué (shown: green, white, and yellow)
- . 3 felt scraps to contrast the Main felt, each at least 2″ – 2 ½” (5 – 6.5 cm), for word appliqué on back of cover (shown: yellow and white)
- . Solid cotton fabric scrap, at least 6″ – 6″ (15 – 15 cm), for backing of patchwork appliqué
- . Cotton scrap for appliqué on the back cover (shown: vintage-style notions label print, 2 7/8″ – 3 ¾” [7.3 – 9.5 cm])
