Description
We all know there is a shortage of athletic and workout wear sewing patterns out there, and they require specific pattern making and sewing techniques. But now with this brand-new course developed by Meg Healy you’ll be guided through the process of drafting and sewing your own personal collection of workout wear garments. We’ll start from the very beginning and learn about the stretch factor of knit fabrics and how to accommodate for the stretch percentage on the sewing pattern (did I lose you yet?). I know it sounds complicated at first, but the course is designed to be very user friendly and each session is taught through on-camera demonstrations and printable handouts. By the end of these 6 weeklong courses, you will have a great understanding of athletic fabrics and how to sew with them. Better yet, you will have made a running tank, yoga tank, t-shirt, leggings, shorts, and yoga pants complete with matching headband! Everything that you need to kick start your sewing and workouts.
After completion of this course, you’ll have the knowledge and confidence to make even more athletic garments, since Meg will demonstrate how to develop these patterns on slopers meant for knit fabrics (you’ll also get PDFs of the sloper patterns!). In the last session you be shown how easy it is to customize your slopers and make your own designs to execute, and by the 6th session you’ll be a pro!

The Expert:
Meg Healy had the urge to sew and create at a young age and eventually led her to study Fashion Design in both London, Canada and NYC. While interning for Vera Wang and BurdaStyle during her studies, she was encouraged to accept a full-time position with BurdaStyle where she served as the online editor and face of BurdaStyle.com for nearly 7 years inspiring and teaching sewists around the world. Meg now is a content producer for Sew Daily which includes titles such as Sew News and Creative Machine Embroidery magazines while also continuing to develop, film and instruct online sewing videos for BurdaStyle Academy and Sew Daily TV. She shares her sewing journey on the Sew & Tell podcast and on her @meg.says.sew Instagram account. When not sewing, Meg enjoys spending time with her husband going to art galleries, cycling, and cuddling their giant pet rabbit.

Really enjoyed this. I made 8 pieces as a mix of this course and 01/17 workout wear patterns. Really gave me confidence to draft my own
