Combine refashioning, patchwork, and sashiko in a one-of-a-kind apron.
Inspired by vintage Japanese boro made of patched cotton rags and worn out
clothing, this reversible apron uses men’s shirts for the patchwork and features
pockets and embellishment on both sides.
Fabric Requirements:
– Five or more used shirts in 100% woven cotton and/or cotton/polyester
blend, or an assortment of scraps of woven cotton fabrics (shown:
assorted plaids, stripes, and one print in shades of blue, brown, and
green)
Finished Size: Large apron panel is 14.5″ wide by 11″ long (37 x 28 cm) from bottom of the
waistband/tie to the hemline. Small apron is 11.25″ wide x 8.5″ long (28.5 x
21.5 cm) from bottom of the waistband/tie is 1.5″ wide x 54″ long (3.8 x 137 cm)
from end to end.
