Description

An antique silver ornament tree inspired the design of these easy-to-sew placemats. Choose a few favorite fabrics to showcase and use raw-edge applique and simple thread painting for embellished placemats that will add a special touch to any holiday table.

Finished Size: Each placemat: 14 ½” – 19 ½” (37 – 49.5 cm)

Fabric Requirements:

. 1 yd (91.5 cm) of solid cotton fabric for placemat tops (Main; shown: red)

. 1 yd (91.5 cm) of cotton print fabric for backing (Contrast 1; shown: red/white mod print)

. Five 4 ½” – 18″ strips (11.5 – 45.5 cm) of cotton print fabrics (1 each of 5 different fabrics) for ornaments (or various scraps; see Notes)

. 5/8 yd (57.5 cm) of cotton print fabric for binding (Contrast 2; shown: dark gray/white print
