Mod Striped Tablet Case

Sixties retro meets high-tech with this mod-inspired tablet case fashioned with strips of brilliantly hued leather. The body of the case is unlined and easy customization means you can quickly make one for each of your various gadgets. Tips for sewing with leather are provided, but faux leather or laminated fabric may also be used.
LEATHER (Cut sizes are given for a standard iPad; see Customize Your Case at the end of the instructions to alter the dimensions for other tablets.) Most leather is sold by the skin or by the piece. Remnants are sometimes available. Calculate your project requirements before purchasing. Instead of leather, faux leather or laminated fabric may also be used. — Main color: leather piece, at least 20″ × 11″ (shown: coral) — Contrast A: 4″ leather strip at least 20″ long (shown: yellow) — Contrast A: 4″ × 11″ for flap lining (shown: yellow) — Contrast B: 2″ leather strip at least 20″ long (shown: salmon)

— Leather rubber cement (such as Barge All-Purpose Cement) or double-sided tape — Leather machine needle — All-purpose polyester thread — If customizing, plate or round object for marking curve — Optional: Teflon or walking foot — Optional: Rotary cutter and mat
