Description

Jeans are something we wear almost every day and act as a second skin to our lower half! We all know how hard it is to find jeans that fit us and match our style. Why not tackle making your own pair of jeans exactly the way you want them?

Sewing your own pair of jeans can be intimidating and requires precision, patience, and skill. This online workshop with Meg Healy will lead you through every step of the process including understanding denim fabrics, jean notions, as well as the jeans sewing pattern. You will also learn how to adapt the pattern to be alternate silhouettes, rises, and styles. Lastly, you will learn how to distress the jeans to make them look more worn in and store-bought!

Even just thinking of sewing a fly front zipper can be daunting, but don’t worry! Not only will you learn how to sew a fly front zipper, you will also learn how to sew every aspect of jeans including the pockets, yoke, and topstitching.

The most important part of the jean making process is how the jeans fit! You will learn how to make pattern modifications before you sew them together and you will get to try the jeans on mid-way through to assess the fit before finishing. Get excited about making your own pair of jeans! After you make one pair you will want to make several more (we promise).
