Description
Use your favorite fabric scraps to create a row of homes for a custom art piece. It’s a great project to do with kids or as a memorykeeping showcase of vintage family textiles. Simply stitch the appliqués to a linen background and attach to a premade canvas.
Finished Size: 24″ – 18″ (61 – 45.5 cm)
Fabric Requirements:
. 2/3 yd (61 cm) of cotton or linen fabric for the base fabric
. Scraps of various printed fabrics for windows, doors, curtains, and details, each at least 2½” – 3″ (6.5 – 7.5 cm)
. 19″ – 4¾” (48.5 – 12 cm) printed cotton for top floor (shown: blue leaves on off-white)
. Six 6″ – 5″ (15 – 12.5 cm) rectangles of various printed cottons for middle and bottom floor rooms (shown: 2 different red prints and 2 different blue prints in stripes and florals; the sample uses the red stripe and blue floral print for 2 rectangles each and an alternate print for each of the remaining 2 rectangles)
. 1 yd (91.5 cm) of 2½” (6.5 cm) wide embroidered ribbon (shown: white eyelet with scallop edge)
