Description
Go retro with this whimsical mid-century modern wool throw. The appliqué shapes, inspired by Canonsburg Pottery’s Temporama china from the 1950s, are attached with fusible web and finished by hand with a simple running stitch.
FABRIC
The sample shown was made from Pendleton Eco-wise wool. Specific Pendleton colors are referenced with yardage.
From 18 oz wool flannel, 54″ wide,
cut:
— 1 yd off-white (Main; Doe)
— 3/8 yd soft blue (Fabric A; Reef)
— ¼ yd yellow-green (Fabric B; Bamboo)
— ¼ yard light tan (Fabric C; Buckskin)
For the backing, cut:
— 1 yd of 42″ wide lightweight worsted wool plaid
For the binding (shown: brown),
— 7 yd of precut 1½” wool felt binding or ½ yd wool felt cut into 1½” strips by the width of fabric
