What could be better than peace? And what better way to celebrate this idea than to sew a fun, colorful pillow? Add to that a freeform, improvisational approach to piecing the top and you have a pillow that can’t help but make you feel good.
Finished Size: 48½” – 12½” (123 – 31.5 cm)
Fabric Requirements: Measurements given for scraps are minimum sizes. Feel free to use scraps in a wide range of widths and lengths.
. About 100 assorted cotton fabric scraps in blue and/or green shades (cool colors) measuring at least 1½” – 6″ (3.8 – 15 cm; shown: scraps from 25 different prints and solids)
. About 125 assorted cotton fabric scraps in red, brown, and/or orange shades (warm colors) measuring at least 1½” – 12″ (3.8 – 30.5 cm; shown: scraps from 18 different prints and solids)
. 1/8 yd (11.5 cm) of warm-colored cotton print or solid for binding
. 20″ – 1½” (51 – 3.8 cm) cool-colored strip for binding
. 3 yd (2.7 m) of cotton muslin
. 1 yd (91.5 cm) of coordinating cotton backing fabric (shown: multicolored peace sign print)
