Description
Pincushions are always a useful item to have around, and this one has the added benefit of being cute. It stitches up quickly in the hoop, and the sweet appliquéd flower and accompanying stitched ring of leaves provides a cheery spring feel in your sewing space. Stuff it with fiberfill, wool roving, crushed walnut shells or thread scraps, then finish it off with a covered button to add dimension. The Pins & Petals Pincushion design measures 3.84” high x 3.84” wide with a stitch count of 2,788 and 7 thread colors.
This design is available for embroidery machine formats: CSD, DST, EXP, HUS, JEF, PCS, PEC, PES, SEW, SHV, VIP, VP3, and XXX. Also included is a spec sheet for the design and instructions for making the cushion. Your designs arrive in one file in ZIP format—the file will need to be unzipped before transferring to your machine. Most desktop computers have software that will open a zip file.
To create the In-the-Hoop Pins & Petals Pincushion, you will need the following supplies in addition to an embroidery machine:
- Two 5” squares of quilting cotton
- 3” square of coordinating quilting cotton (appliqué)
- Scrap of coordinating quilting cotton (covered button)
- 5” square of batting
- Fabric-like water-soluble stabilizer
- Thread: bobbin & embroidery
- Embroidery or painter’s tape
- Appliqué scissors
- Chopstick or turning tool
- 5/8”-diameter covered button and covering kit
- Polyester fiberfill or other stuffing
- Hand-sewing needle
