Description
Mix several shades of linen to create this quilted patchwork bag inspired by wooden checkerboards. Its roomy design, soft flannel lining, and inside pocket will ensure it carries everything you need. Machine embroidery accents the patchwork and fabric handles.

Fabric Requirements: ½ yd (46 cm) each of 2 different colors of 45″ (114.5 cm) wide linen for patchwork and handles (A and B; shown: 2 different shades of natural linen) . ½ yd (46 cm) each of 2 different colors of 45″ (114.5 cm) wide linen for patchwork, circle applique, and shell base (C and D; shown: 2 different shades of dark brown) . ¼ yd (23 cm) each of 2 different 45″ (114.5 cm) wide linen prints for circle applique (E and F; shown: 2 different natural linen prints) . 8″ (20.5 cm) square scrap of linen plaid for circle applique (G; shown: natural linen plaid) . 1/8 yd (11.5 cm) of 45″ (114.5 cm) wide print cotton for lining handles (H; shown: brown polka dot) . ¾ yd (68.5 cm) of 45″ (114.5 cm) wide flannel for lining (I; shown: tan) . 5 ½” – 10 ½” (14 – 26.5 cm) piece of print cotton for pocket (J; shown: white polka dot)
