About this Sew-Along:
The BurdaStyle Trench Dress is the perfect piece to wear during the spring and summer season when you want the sophistication of a classic trench! This trending dress is a beautiful mix of chic and comfort that you can wear during any season. These trench dress styles include shoulder taps, lapels, and a tying band at the waist complete with belt loops. With a little help from Meg Healy, you will learn how to sew these components together!
From installing those inseam pockets, to inserting the lining, collar, tabs and buttons – this sew-along covers it all. Once learned, you can even take these techniques to many other pattern styles you wish to sew, including jackets with similar construction details. This sew-along includes patterns for BOTH regular and plus sizes, so everyone can wear this flattering style for the season. Meg will start with sewing the Plus Size Trench Dress from start to finish and then talk about the regular size version with the included sewing lesson PDF.
The possibilities are endless wearing this piece as a blouse or with a top underneath on cooler days. Style with some heels for a look that will bring out your confidence! It may look like a difficult garment to sew, but Meg will break it down into easy steps so you can easily sew one for yourself.
