Description
Add designer details to a basic leather bucket bag. Learn how to hand stitch leather and paint raw leather edges for a high-end polished finish. Recommended fabrics include heavyweight materials such as leather, pleater, vinyl, or interfaced canvas. Designed by Emily Li Mandri and available in one size.
Supplies:
- 10 square feet of 7 ounce leather with a 58″ minimum length (exterior)
- 1 square foot of 9 ounce leather (interfacing)
- 1/2 yard of satin (lining), Two 1″ squares of fusible interfacing
- 2 1/4″-diameter closed metal ring, four metal bag feet
- 3/4″ magnetic closure, binder clips, leather glue
- 2″-wide stiff-bristle paintbrush
- Pattern weights
- Masking tape
- Lighter
- 600 grit sandpaper
- Markers: permanent & removable fabric
- Needles: (size 110/18 leather, hand sewing & two size 2 saddle harness
- Edge-paint roller pen & matching leather edge paint
- Stitching pony clamp
- Leather punches: (6mm-diameter round single & multi-hole set)
- Thread: (.03″ waxed polyester cord & heavyweight bonded nylon thread)
