Description

Inspired by the work of artist Rex Ray, this table runner is a collage of irregular curved shapes. Making the curves is easy using freezer paper patterns and a turned edge appliqué technique. Attach the shapes by hand or machine. Use graphic, modern prints, solids, or more subdued prints.

Fabric: Main: ¾ yd White quilting-weight cotton;Contrast: 9-12 fat quarters (or 1/8 yd each) quilting-weight cotton in various prints or solids for appliqués,Backing: 1 yd solid quilting-weight cotton
Required Materials: Templates: (A/A1)(B/B1)(C/C1)(D/D1/D2)(E)(F), Batting, 15″ x 52″, Matching threads, Freezer paper, Rotary cutter, self-healing mat, and clear acrylic ruler, Walking foot; Starch, Spray bottle or small paint brush.
