Signs of Fall in Creative Machine Embroidery
Fall is right around the corner; it’s such a special season. It’s a time to take a breath before the December holiday rush, enjoy the uniquely lovely weather, and appreciate the special beauty of the season—the falling leaves, the harvest bounty, and of course the spooky elements that make Halloween so much fun. We at Creative Machine Embroidery always try to make this issue embody all the wonderful things about the fall, and this year I think we did a pretty good job.
Pumpkins are a favorite motif at this time of year, and you’ll love our Stitch-Along take on it. Join us and stitch a simple FSL pumpkin project with interlocking pieces that create a 3D look. My favorite part is the curly stem, which allows you to easily hang the project as an alternative to placing it on a flat surface. I may make a whole garland of them.
We’re always a fan of in-the-hoop projects, and we’ve got some great Halloween-themed ones for you to try. Make the little ones quick and easy masks on the embroidery machine. With a superhero, cat, dog, and Frankenstein’s monster, there’s something for everyone in this little collection. Or try your hand at making spookily cute softies, also in the hoop. They make great décor or gifts for little ones.
Of course, the issue also includes some great garment and bag projects. I personally plan to make the Mandala Bag—I just love the reverse embroidered appliqué and the hand-stitched leather embellishment.
In this issue you’ll also find:
- A pair of linen overalls decorated with leaf motifs
- A shacket with pretty embroidered sleeves
- A sheer-sleeved bomber jacket
- The popular Belford Backpack made even better with floral stitching
- And more!
We hope you love this issue as much as we do. Get your copy in print or digital form, and if you’re not a subscriber, sign up now so you won’t miss any upcoming fun!
Take a breath, and enjoy the upcoming autumn.
Happy Stitching,
