Travel in style with a personalized luggage tags. Luggage tags are always a good idea for quick identification in crowded luggage carousels.  If you’re looking for a jazzy set luggage tags then the Travel Tags featured in the Nov/Dec 2017 issue of Creative Machine Embroidery are the perfect project for you!

This fun in-the-hoop project uses faux suede and clear vinyl to make a set of two luggage tags — one that passes through a slit in its own strap to create a loop, and one with a separate strap that buttons in place around a bag handle. They’re easy and quick to make, and they’re great last-minute gifts.

One thing to note about this project is that the edges are a raw-edge finish, so make sure to choose a fabric that won’t ravel too badly or have some seam sealant on hand to seal the edges.
