Luggage Tags – DIY
Travel in style with a personalized luggage tags. Luggage tags are always a good idea for quick identification in crowded luggage carousels. If you’re looking for a jazzy set luggage tags then the Travel Tags featured in the Nov/Dec 2017 issue of Creative Machine Embroidery are the perfect project for you!
This fun in-the-hoop project uses faux suede and clear vinyl to make a set of two luggage tags — one that passes through a slit in its own strap to create a loop, and one with a separate strap that buttons in place around a bag handle. They’re easy and quick to make, and they’re great last-minute gifts.
One thing to note about this project is that the edges are a raw-edge finish, so make sure to choose a fabric that won’t ravel too badly or have some seam sealant on hand to seal the edges.
The luggage tag design can be downloaded for free until Dec. 31, 2017 on cmemag.com/freebies, or purchase them at machineembroiderygeek.com starting in 2018. The instructions can be found in the Nov/Dec 2017 issue of Creative Machine Embroidery, available at shopsewitall.com.
