Different kinds of stabilizers are designed in different ways depending on whether they they will be left in a finished project or removed after they’ve been stitched on. Water-soluable stabilizers are designed to disappear completely. When the stabilizer is able to wash out, woven projects, laces, and other free-standing projects in the hoop are possible to create. Sara demonstrates making a three-dimensional butterfly on a sheer organza fabric and how to cut out the design while it’s still in the hoop for added stability.
