A rain track jacket is probably something you never thought you could make before – but with a few special notions and waterproof fabric you can make one easily that will suit your personal style. In this sew-along we’ll walk you through every step of sewing together this versatile jacket with tips and tricks on the way. Short or long? You can decide as the bottom panel of this breezy track pattern can be removed due to the dual separating zipper attachment.

The pattern PDF is included within the sew-along and due to its oversized silhouette it can adapt to fit various sizes easily. You can always grade up or down pattern sizes to perfectly fit you with the included handout too! So why not challenge your sewing skills this season with the help of BurdaStyle.com Educator Meg Healy and make a custom rain jacket that no one will believe you made yourself.

From hammering in those rivets, to inserting all the elastic cord with stoppers – this sew-along will have you confident in working with hardware to make your jacket that much more functional and professional looking. So grab your favorite color of nylon (or a couple colors!) and start your dream rain jacket today.

Thank you for the fun project and detailed instruction! I also wanted to know how I can make it more waterproof by applying the waterproof seam tape. I am looking forward to more projects!
