Instructor: Joi Mahon
Award winning designer Joi Mahon has a passion for fashion sewing and loves to inspire those wanting to create fashionable garments that fit. Joi has been sewing since she was five, taught sewing classes and sewed for business when she was only 14, apprenticed for a tailor, and has been sewing professionally for over 24 years now.
Joi is a spokes designer for Baby Lock Sewing Machines, popular instructor and author of Create the Perfect Fit: Measuring and Pattern Fitting for Real Sewing Solutions and Designer Joi’s Sewing Workshop. She is working on her first quilt book. Joi designs patterns for McCall Pattern Company, has been featured in Threads, Sew News, Sew Beautiful, Sew it All and Sew Stylish Magazines. She is taking the sewing world by storm with her real life fitting solutions developed after years of real life application.
In 2016 Joi opened Designer Joi’s Sewing Factory Creative Space and Sewing Event Classroom.
She is an energetic, approachable and engaging teacher and you will learn real life sewing and design skills that Joi uses in her studio every day with her keen understanding of fashion sewing, fun aesthetic and natural talent for sewing.
Outside of sewing Joi loves gardening, skating, she plays the saxophone and most of all loves playing with her kiddos and her puppy Piper.
