Episode 10 | Sara Gallegos | Runtime (9 min)

Quilting smaller projects like coasters and placemats or quilt-as-you-go-blocks can be achieved with quilting in the hoop. Full quilts can also be quilted in the hoop with multiple hoopings. Sara demonstrates making a quilted coaster using quilt batting instead of stabilizer. She talks about tips for re-sizing an embroidery design and shows how to use a pattern piece to cut embroidered fabric into a desired shape — in this case a hexagon. Once the embroidered piece is cut out, Sara discusses how to finish the back of the coaster.
