A tank silhouette with elasticated waist is a carefree take on the “LBD”. A deep slit at the neckline can show a little or a lot of skin. Make it a day dress in a bright summer color. In this video, we’ll take you through each step of the process to complete sewing this Tank Dress #122B from the 07/2011 issue. Starting with the paper pattern (sometimes the most confusing part!) and indicating how to extract certain pattern pieces and draft new ones from the instructions. In the sewing portion, you’ll see how to effectively finish the front slit edge beautifully as well as create that waist casing for the elastic. Lastly, we’ll demonstrate how to sew those double armhole bands that give this dress that special something.
