If you are new or even familiar with the sewing world you have probably heard the term sloper thrown around time and time again. Slopers are fabulous for sewers who want to make their own patterns, and understand fit. In this video we will demonstrate on video how to sew, fit, and alter the skirt sloper to fit you. Don’t quite know what a skirt sloper is? Think of it as a very basic pencil skirt with no details except for the fitting waist darts. Once you test sew up your sloper in muslin and try it on, you can then pin where it needs to be taken in or cut where it needs to be brought out. We will visually show you how to do this using a dress form and then transferring those fitting marks (from your muslin) to your paper pattern! So then when you go and make a new pattern from your adjustments skirt sloper pattern, it will have those fit adjustments and fit you perfectly.
