Sewing up skirts with Caroline Hulse

Hi sewists! Fabric and pattern designer Caroline Hulse is back again to talk maxi skirts, which are the perfect spring-summer garment in my humble opinion: free and easy enough for the heat of high noon, but covered enough for the still-chilly mornings and evenings. Enjoy!

Hello! My name is Caroline Hulse and I am the author of the blog Sew Caroline, designer of Sew Caroline Sewing Patterns, and licensed fabric designer for Art Gallery Fabrics. Over the past few years I have had the privilege of getting to know the gals behind Stitch magazine. I always love the projects they share in their issues and have loved having the opportunity to write a bit for them. In the Summer 2015 issue, you’ll get to see one of my favorite things to make and wear: MAXI SKIRTS!

Who doesn’t love to wear maxis, especially in the summer? It’s basically like wearing pajamas all day long!
Get the video tutorial for Caroline’s One Seam Maxi Skirt in the Sew Daily shop and check out the skirt in Stitch Summer 2015.
If seeing the instructions on paper doesn’t cut it for you, head over to the Sew Daily Shop and download the video tutorial I recorded for you! In this hour-long video, I’ll walk you through how to cut and sew your maxi skirt, giving you two options for a waistband, and tons of tips on sewing with those pesky knit fabrics. I think you’ll learn something and hope you have fun while doing it!
