Sharing Stitch Projects with a Live Audience at Quilting Live!

It's not often that an editor gets to take the magazine on the road, literally. But that's just what I did last week at my company's new Quilting Live! event with several other co-editors. The idea was to bring the experience of reading one of our magazines and make it live. Intriguing, huh?

The Peppermint Stick Pillow

the Quilting Live! event with me.

So, of course I packed all the projects from recent issues of Stitch, including Stitch Modern Holiday and we dressed up the booth with actual projects that appeared in the magazine.

On the first day I had a stage presentation called "The Editor's Eye" where I talked about what goes into the process of choosing a project for the magazine. I started passing around the cover project from Stitch Modern Holiday, Christine Cameli's Peppermint Stick Pillow Cover, along with other Stitch projects.

There were about 40 people in the audience, and you should have seen how they loved holding a cover project in one hand and the magazine it appears in in the other. In fact, they didn't want to let either go. And it was such a thrill for me to share the projects that we develop and nurture over a period of several months.

While it's too late to make it to Quilting Live! this year (don't worry there's always next year), you can definitely get your copy of the gorgeous Modern Holiday in the Sew Daily Shop.

Would you be interested in looking at Stitch projects up close? I would love to know!

Happy stitching!
