My attempt at the Liz and Elizabeth Evans baby quilt

Greetings, and happy Thursday-that-feels-like-Friday compadres! Raise your hand if you **need** this three-day weekend like I do.

My latest sewing project for the babies in my life is the Charm Pack Plus One Baby Quilt by Liz and Elizabeth Evans of Simple Simon and Co. The quilt was part of our summer issue, and after the "fun" I had with the curved, bound baby bib from the Beginners eBook, I needed something with straight lines to make myself feel a little better.

My eight rows taped up on the wall for all to admire/stare at for hours on end hoping the squares reveal the meaning of life.

Right now, I've got eight rows sewn, yay!

I'm getting a little anxious about sewing the rows together, though. If the squares don't align, I'll be heartbroken. Any tips? Please share!

I'm using the leftover "Morning Walk" by Art Gallery fabrics we have here in the office, but we still have kits available for it, that are now on sale thanks to our super-duper tent sale, which means you can afford to buy the how-to video, too!

Happy Fourth of July to all, and to all a good Fourth of July!
