What I would do is go shopping and buy a cheap plain white t-shirt and some plain white lightweight cotton or lawn. Dye fabric and shirt in colour of choice. Try on t-shirt inside out and pin the sides in until desired fit has been achieved. Stitch this new seam and cut off excess fabric. Measure length...
