If anyone has had a look at the contents, it appears to be an interesting e-mag. Unfortunately its only available to I-pad owners. And Interweave, so far, sees no reason to change that.
The only way to try to change this is to contact Interweave customer service and explain that forcing loyal customers to buy an i-Pad to read a magazine is unworthy of them, is unreasonably expensive for too many of us during a global recession, and makes the company look greedy bad. You would like to be able to read it on your own computer and/or e-reader, just like other magazine publishers allow us to do with magazines we buy.
At the moment if you have a Windows, Mac or Linux computer, if you run an android/linux tablet or phone, or have an e-reader, including Kindle, it will not be coming to your inbox any time soon.
UNLESS you buy an i-Pad. Or the hackers finally crack the i-code and make it freely available to the rest of us (and pigs fly!).
PS, if you need a legal work-around for Zinio's format so as to read magazines that you have paid for on an e-reader that they don't yet cover, that particular bit of software is legal, and has been around for years and is not Adobe Reader, though it does pretty much the same things. Its called PdFill, and works like an extra printer for your computer. In Zinio you simply select the print menu, then select the print to pdf option , save it on your computer as a pdf file, and away you go! And it costs far less than an i-Pad! Or even a new e-reader.
Dear Caroline A,
Thank you for your feedback. Please note that due to overwhelming demand from desktop app readers, we’ve decided to release our eMags again for desktop. The release schedule is not yet available, so please stay tuned!
Thank you for changing your mind. I look forward to being able to buy the magazines I want to read and running them on my computer and my tablet.
Thank you for taking the time to let us know what's on your mind!
