Freebie Friday: The Printed Pattern by Yvonne and Rebecca Drury

May 6, 2011

Happy Friday everyone and welcome to another round of Freebie Friday!

This week we're giving away a copy of The Printed Pattern:Techniques and Projects for Inspired Printmaking and Surface Design by Yvonne Drury and Rebecca Drury.

The Printed Pattern offers clear, easy-to-follow instructions on creating original stamp, stencil, and screen designs using nine different methods that can be used to make everything from fine art to furniture decoration. The authors walk you through how to apply these designs to a wide range of surfaces and objects for charming hand printed-graphics and patterns.

With inspiring photographic illustrations, readers learn to create mood boards and color schemes, while experimenting with composition and scale for effective design. As a bonus, the book also offers templates to be used as guides for cutting your own stencils. Artists, crafters, and textile enthusiasts will all be drawn to Yvonne and Rebecca's enticing printed project ideas and techniques for modern handprinted pieces.

Leave a comment below to be entered! We'll randomly pick a winner from the comments on Monday.

Have a great weekend, and if you're a mom, happy Mother's Day! :)

Oh, I saw this in the magazine! Looks fantastic. I love how it stretches the making process just a little further and gives a little more challenge to it all.

The "easy-to-folllow instructions" comment made me take notice!  That sounds like it would be less time intensive and more likely to be something I would actually try to do.

I think it would be a good resource book to have on hand...

You have so many great things on your web site that it is hard where to start. Your E-books are fantastic, especially for a novice like me. Thank You so much.

Many prints are just not what I would like them to be, so I would love to be able to design and make them myself.

I've been wanting to teach print making to my jr. high agers for the longest.  I'm hoping this will help me get all the supplies and ideas together!
