Looks fabulous! Love all the neat stuff that's going along with the book. I just printed out the freebie project to make the thread/pin holder. Looks like a nice sit down project for the evening.

I love hand sewing.  One of my favorite things to do is collect unusual buttons of all kinds.  When I want to sit in a quiet setting, or if I am waiting for an appointment, or just feel like walking to the park, I can take a few buttons with me and change buttons on a sweater, jacket or just use them to embellish a project.  Since I love to knit and knitting is a form of sewing only with yarn and a needle, I am used to taking a knit project with me as well, whereever I go.  It's just as easy to take a small case with needle, thread, buttons.  I love the feel of the thread & needle in hand and manipulating it for hand embroidery stitches.  I found that many times I was torn by my desire to stay home and sew or choosing to accompany my husband on errands or just take a drive.  Now I don't have to choose.  While he drives, I can sew, knit, embroider, change buttons.  Added bonus, I can sew all the way back home!

I have always made handmade gifts and learned to sew by hand at an early age, but it seems as I got older and busier, hand sewing went by the wayside.  I only recently began hand sewing again and crocheting in an effort to stop smoking.  I fogot how wonderfully therapeutic hand sewing was.  I always have a small portable project with me when I go to my children's activities and I have been amazed at how many children ask if they can learn or try.  I think they are always amazed that you can make something without using electricity.  I would love to show them the book and ask them if there is a project they would like to try.

That would be very nice to win.  Hand sewing is my favorite way to sew although I haven't had the time to do it lately.  It is so portable.  Also you get people asking what are you doing?  And some of the time you can find someone who would like to learn the art of hand sewing.

I would love to win this kit. I am just starting to sew and I don't know how to use a sewing machine yet. I know how to do simple sewing but need a really good book to show me how to do it the right way. I searched all over for a book like this and they are so hard to find on just hand sewing. This book would help me tremendously to get my new projects and ideas on the right path. I am so happy that I found this site and I know it will be a great help to me reading all your topics on sewing. Thank you for making this site available to all of us!
