Spring Stitch is Here!

                  Spring 2012 Stitch has sprung!

If I do say so myself, I am absolutely loving the Spring 2012 Stitch. It's available now and filled to the gills with 36 mouthwatering projects to usher in warmer weather.

The first section, "For the Birds," is for anyone who loves projects that include birds, whether it's a chicky tuffet (seriously cute!), tea towels, an applique tote, an embroidered bird quilt, and more. Some quickie projects include magnets, photo holders and a darling birdie bib. If you are into birds, the projects in "For the Birds" are absolutely must-do.

In the "Tiny Prints" section, fashionable projects are shown on a smaller scale–small scale prints, that is. We all have some tiny prints in our stash, and items like a sweet spring coat, cute clutch, pretty baby layette and fluttery girl's blouse will showcase these fabrics splendidly.

The playfulnness continues in the "Dots + Stripes" section with a girl's garden dress, project tote, quilt, pillow and even an ironing board cover—all of them delightfully dotted and striped.  And embrace spring's fresh breezes in the party-friendly "Alfresco" section with colorful placemats, party lanterns, votive holders, a hostess apron, and more.

One of my favorite sections, the last-but-definitely-not-least "Sewing Unplugged," features projects that involve simply a needle and thread, like a sampler pillow, handstitched coverlet, and an embroidered blanket and coin purse and sashiko coasters.

Finally, for a good read, settle in with one of the fascinating features about Scandinavian textiles and Lotta Jansdotter, designer Joel DewBerry, or Japanese sashiko.

Check out the contents of Stitch, Spring 2012, and jumpstart your way into spring by claiming your copy today. And let me know what you think of the issue on this blog.

Happy stitching!

  1. Hi,
I was wondering if there is a pattern for the skirt laying on the ironing board on page 55? I really love this issue!! I was also wondering if you don’t have a pattern for that skirt if you knew where I could find that style or what it’s called? Also, if in future issues you have any cute boy patterns? Finding cute trendy patterns for little boys is very difficult. Thanks for you help!!

    Erika
